Specialist Information Systems Engineer – Network Engineering

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of Information Systems and Data Center Architect experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Information Systems and Data Center Architect experience
OR
Associate degree and 8 years of Information Systems and Data Center Architect experience
OR
High school diploma/GED and 10 years of Information Systems and Data Center Architect experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of routing, switching, WANs, wireless, IPAM, DNS, DHCP, Infoblox DDI, and F5 load balancers.
  • Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in network operations (a plus).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

If you’re a skilled Network Engineer with expertise in routing, switching, WANs, wireless, IPAM, DNS, DHCP, Infoblox, and F5 load balancing, and you’re passionate about leveraging AI/ML and automation to streamline network operations, then we want to hear from you!
Amgen is seeking a Specialist Network Engineer responsible for the security, compliance, and performance of our network infrastructure. You will work with a team of dedicated network engineers and architects, who are accountable for security, compliance, and performance. You will also collaborate with other IT teams, such as Data Center Operations, Information Security, Service Management, and Internal Business Partners, to ensure alignment and integration of network solutions with business objectives. You will also support vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR A SPECIALIST INFORMATION SYSTEMS ENGINEER – NETWORK ENGINEERING:

  • Manage and maintain our complex network infrastructure, including routing, switching, WANs, wireless, IPAM, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Infoblox DDI appliances and F5 load balancers.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Implement and maintain network automation solutions to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Leverage AI/ML tools for network monitoring, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance (a plus).
  • Stay up to date on the latest network technologies and trends.
  • Collaborate effectively with other IT teams to ensure seamless network operations.
  • Document network configurations and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners.
  • Identify and address potential network issues, providing solutions and recommendations.
  • Travel: Domestic and international travel up to 15% may be essential
