We currently have an opening for a Logistics and Compliance Specialist - 8 Month Contract, come grow with us!
Reporting to the Logistics and Customs Compliance Manager, the Logistics and Customs Compliance Specialist - 8 Month Contract is responsible to provide essential support for North American locations to ensure compliance with HPS Customs policies and procedures. This position provides Supply Chain Task/Project Support, assisting in the preparation of legally binding International Export/Import documentation, and actively participating in Customs/Intercompany Logistics Audits.
DO YOU QUALIFY? WE ARE SEEKING:
- College or university degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management
- 3+ years of related experience. Some supply chain or logistics related field job experience
- Experience with International & Domestic Shipping, Transportation and Customs processes and regulations
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Visio, BI, PowerPoint)
- Novice ERP system knowledge
- Problem solving, judgment and decision-making skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Effective communication and crucial conversation skills

Responsibilities:
- Obtain Specialized Packaging/Freight quotes for international shipments
- Provide support/verification for inquiries from Capital Traffic for Mexico Consolidated Truck from Canada
- Provides logistics support to RMA coordinator
- Setup & maintain standard record keeping practices for Freight/Logistics related documents
- Establishes and updates the LTL freight rate Canada quote file (formerly E-Freight)
- Maintain/Audit Logistics AX Item Master/Vendor/Customer fields
- Assists Carriers/Sales with delivery/paperwork exceptions/delays; escalates to manager as required
- Monitor system for incorrect/stopped/reservation issues SO’s/PO’s/TO’s and correct
- Prepare International Shipment Paperwork & ensures compliance to requirements of originating and destination country to avoid penalties, fines etc. (i.e. CERS, Chamber of Commerce, Free Trade Agreements)
- Stays aware of logistics/customs/trade compliance globally
- Populates HS Tariff Code via Commodity Code for all HPS Product
- Provides support to Logistics & Customs Compliance Manager for Customs Inquiries/Audits i.e. CF-28
