SPECIALIST ONCOLOGY PHARMACIST

Hybrid – Epsom (Home based but some potential for on site meetings) | Fixed Term (3-6 Months) | 37.5 Weekly hours (Part time will be considered)

Are you a dedicated and forward-thinking pharmacist with expertise in haematology/oncology? We are seeking a high-calibre individual to join the Central Pharmacy Team and play a pivotal role in updating protocols and regimen builds within our SACT electronic prescribing system.
The system covers 11 hospitals across the Nuffield Health organisation and is accessed by a wide range of users including consultants, pharmacy teams, oncology nurses and admin teams. As an integral member of our central pharmacy team, you will work collaboratively to implement changes in medicines prescribing within the haematology/oncology specialty across Nuffield Health.

As a Specialist Oncology Pharmacist you’ll:

  • Lead and champion patient safety in own area of practice, seeking out potential issues and encouraging staff to call out and report safety concerns.
  • Lead and promote governance activity, championing clinical effectiveness and ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health’s Quality governance framework and national standards, e.g. CQC/HIW/HIS Regulation, fundamentals of care, professional standards and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Update and develop SACT prescribing protocols.
  • Update SACT Regimen builds within the system.
  • Work collaboratively with the Quality Lead for Oncology Pharmacy, clinicians and the oncology teams at site to ensure excellence in SACT prescribing practice.
  • Be an integral member of the S-PAG (SACT Prescribing Advisory Group) within Nuffield Health
  • Support the delivery of high-quality clinical care, ensuring that all patients, families, friends and representatives are treated with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion

To succeed as a Specialist Oncology Pharmacist we’re looking for:

  • A Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Evidence of stretching continued professional development.
  • Significant post-registration experience as a Pharmacist in an Oncology acute setting
  • Leadership/management experience
  • Competency in clinical skills related to role
