Description:
ESNEFT are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Optometrists to join the Optometry service based at Colchester Hospital.
You will work within core optometry clinics and extended scope roles in the ophthalmology sub-speciality clinics. This presents an ideal opportunity to experienced community optometrists who wish to expand their knowledge base further, previous hospital experience is not essential.
You will be offered comprehensive training in hospital clinical work including refraction, specialist contact lens, LVA, special needs clinics, plus development of clinical experience in extended roles such as medical retina, vitreo-retinal, cataract, glaucoma and cornea.
The post holder is an autonomous practitioner who is required to deliver a broad range of core optometric and specialised extended role clinical services at the Primary Care Centre, Colchester, and peripheral hospitals.
You will manage the triage of community ophthalmic referrals.
You are required to contribute to the teaching, audit, research, clinical governance and administrative requirements of the optometry service.
