Description:

Are you a Midwife with an interest in Perinatal Mental Health.
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Midwife to join the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Community Team.
The post is part time at 22.5hours per week over a fixed three days, the successful applicant with be joining a small team of: Psychiatry, Psychology, OT, Nursing, Nursery Nurses.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • The post holder will provide an advisory link between adult mental health, midwifery and obstetric services to provide continuity of care for pregnant and postnatal women who are experiencing mental health issues.
  • Assist and advise women with, or at risk of, perinatal mental illness and their families to supplement the care provided by their midwives where necessary, for example working with women and their midwives to develop integrated care plans, and making referrals to additional specialist support where required.
  • Education and training will be a key aspect of the role to ensure relevant staff working across CTMUHB, are both competent and confident in the delivery and management of women with pre-existing and/or new mental health conditions.
