Description:

Part time 0.91 WTE working across the Gedling and Hucknall CMHT and Intensive Home Treatment Team. Are you passionate about working with Older People? We have an exciting opportunity for a physiotherapist within the Mental Health Services for Older People Directorate who has these values.
This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays
Please note that this post may not meet the pay and skill level required for a Skilled worker visa
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa and also does not appear on the shortage occupation list for healthcare and education, In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a skilled worker / health & Care visa.

The CMHT and IHTT provide community-based multi-disciplinary assessments and treatments for people of any age suffering from dementia and those people over the age of 65 years who are experiencing mental health problems, as well as supporting their carers.
Having a positive attitude towards working with people with mental health problems is essential. It is not essential to have worked in this environment previously - there will be opportunity to grow and expand your mental health skills being supported by dedicated senior staff including a Physiotherapy Clinical Specialist.
You will need to have a good understanding of Mental Health as this role covers as a generic Mental Health Practitioner alongside being a physiotherapist. There is an expectation for the post holder to cover duty and generic assessments in IHTT.

Role of Physiotherapy in the community
To work within the multi-disciplinary team.
Falls risk assessment and implementing plans to decrease risk of falling.
Assessment of functional mobility.
Completing home visits.
Assessing the requirement for mobility aids.
Advise on ways to increase stamina/exercise tolerance/fitness.
Formulating and implementing treatment plans.
Assessment and treatment of specific musculoskeletal complaints.
Assessment and treatment/management of physical problems related to neurological conditions.
Assessment and treatment/management of acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
To encourage and facilitate regular physical activity to benefit physical and mental health and well-being.
To refer to other services as appropriate.
