JOB SUMMARY

As an Specialist Program/Project manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of projects within the CN Elevate Program. This program is one of the most interesting as it oversees one of the largest SAP S4 transformations in the world. Delivery on multiple line of business area such as Human Resources, Public Affairs, Corporate Security, Legal, Internal Audit, Facilities, Finance, Procurement, Engineering and Mechanical. You will oversee all aspects of program/project. You will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, ensures accurate allocation of resources, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and monitor and summarize progress of the program/project. You will build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the project. You will guide and coach the project specialists’ within your project/program. You will actively participate in the deployment of project governance, standards & best practices. You will also prepare reports for upper management regarding status of the project. Strong leadership is essential with the ability simultaneously manage multiple mandates.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/DESIGNATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce, or equivalent
  • PMP or PgMP certification (an asset)
  • SCRUM or equivalent Agile methodology certification (an asset)

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Technical background or understanding of cybersecurity tools and technologies
  • Knowledge of the corporate business functions and related operational processes.
  • Comfortable with implementing leading edge technology
  • Strong capacity to communicate and enforce corrective and preventive actions
  • Strong capacity to communicate and lead project/ program planning activities
  • Well-developed communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders
  • Proactive, organized, bilingual
  • Expertise on MS Project, MS Excel & Jira

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 6 years of IT project/program management experience

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordination and completion of projects /programs
  • Identify program/project milestones, critical success factors, risks and resource requirements
  • Ability to manage budgets and align project deliverables to expected business case benefits
  • Collaborate efficiently with partners, clients and vendors to deliver projects according to plan
  • Lead project teams using waterfall and/or Hybrid Agile methodology
  • Ensure all program/project management best practices are applied, following client methodology (Planning, Execution & Control, Closing & Transfer to Core)
  • Work closely with the Business and Product Owners to optimize waterfall/agile practices within the team
  • If applicable, work closely with the project specialist & project manager under the program to solve problems and provide guidance
  • Ensure project transparency with timely and clear progress updates to senior management
  • Negotiates changes in scope, budget or schedule with sponsor and steering committee, and ensure adherence to change management process
  • Manage project plan using Microsoft Project Professional Server (PPM)/PWA);
  • Able to work under pressure, flexible during times of change and reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently, while maintaining business value and respecting project deadlines
