Description:

To support the Infrastructure Solutions Manager in the delivery of the essential services and systems managed within the corporate division of Digital and Information. To be responsible for the IT Infrastructure delivery of UNIX, Microsoft Windows, VMware systems, Azure and any new infrastructure technologies that are required to fulfil successful project delivery and improve the infrastructure resilience and capabilities of the Trust. To be responsible for the Trusts storage infrastructure (SAN) environment and backup/restore technologies. To be responsible for problem resolution (3rd line) support services within Digital Services and provide an escalation path for unresolved support issues.
To provide in-depth expert knowledge and expertise on complex systems for problem resolution, system design and provisioning. Lead in service review meetings with suppliers to discuss development roadmaps, upgrades, and technical architecture specifications & designs. To be accountable for infrastructure project delivery within Digital Services for both internal and external projects. To provide expert technical advice during Trust procurement activity to ensure quality systems and services are procured in-line with the IT strategy and that the Trust obtains best value for money during tendering activity for all IT systems/infrastructure.
To contribute to the IT Server Infrastructure strategy for Nottingham University Hospital. To produce local IT Infrastructure policy and operational handoverdocumentation for new server systems and contribute to the development of infrastructure policy and technical capability across the wider health community. To advise the Digital Services Senior Management Team on local and national IT Infrastructure opportunities, challenges, and changes for the future. To provide a consistent approach to Digital Services technical project delivery ensuring a best quality and equitable provision to customers across the Trust for transformational /divisional projects.
To plan, implement and evaluate changes within the Technical Infrastructure teams and help develop long-term strategies for system improvements, problem resolution and system /product retirement. To work closely with peers within Digital Services to ensure that service provision is coordinated across the department and the entire Trust where applicable. To be a contributing member at committees as required by the Digital Services Senior Management Team. To take ownership for unresolved problems working closely with theInfrastructure Solutions Manager ensuring that they are resolved in agreed timescales.
To act as an ambassador for Digital Services, promoting change anddevelopments within the service. To develop as part of a multi-disciplinary team of informed and knowledgeable infrastructure specialists and staff who have the appropriate and necessary skills. To form good working relationships with other staff and managers across the Trust to enhance the reputation of Digital Services. To deputise as required for the Infrastructure Solutions Manager where required.
