Description:

This post is initially a fixed term for 12 months with a view to becoming permanent if mutually agreed after annual review.
These posts are designed to allow expansion of our middle grade tier to meet the increasing demand our Neurology Department, like many others, is facing. We hope the posts will attract Neurology doctors with the following backgrounds:
Established speciality doctors looking to work in a high-performing, friendly and cohesive team
General Medicine trainees who feel a move to being a non-trainee would provide a better work-life balance with no more moving hospitals and the possibility to put down roots
The post is based in the Neurology Department at Airedale General Hospital.
The post holder/s will be responsible to the Neurology consultants and will be expected to:
Out-patient clinics (with supervision from consultants when need)
Ward referrals

In-patient reviews

  • There are no on-call commitments in this post*

The post-holder undertakes exceptionally to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances essential to the continuity of patient care.
The post holder will be responsible to the Clinical Lead, with their management responsibility resting with the Patient Service Manager and Clinical Director for Neurology. The post holder will allocated a clinical supervisor also.
The job plan is negotiable but it is proposed that for full time staff it will be 10 PAs with non- clinical time included in this.
This is a non-training post and therefore not approved by the Deanery. The post holder will, however, receive the same training and experience in line with existing trainee doctors.
