Description:

This is a Fixed term, full time post to provide middle grade cover to the Trauma and Orthopaedic Unit. The post is designed to be flexible in approach so that the optimum service can be delivered to elective, trauma and ED patients.
The post holder may be asked to work some sessions flexibly depending on which Team the post holder is working with to enable EWTD obligations to be met. The post will include Trauma and Elective operating and well as outpatient work and On Call provision. Applicants may be offered ad hoc evening or weekend sessions subject to mutual agreement and remuneration.
The post holder will be required to participate in an on-call rota
On call Duties 1:12. Resident on call until 2100 hrs and then non-resident on call overnight after 2100hrs. Weekend on call is 1:12
To collaborate and work to maintain Trauma and Orthopaedic services in line with strategic and operational requirements.
To provide, with the other team members in the specialty, routine and emergency Trauma and Orthopaedic services to the Trust, operating a system of prospective cover for annual, study and professional leave.
To develop appropriate services and techniques required to fulfil clinical needs, within available resources.
To liaise with medical staff in other specialties and participate in clinical meetings and postgraduate activities in the Trust.
