As Specialty Business Manager, you will lead a large administrative team and work with a group of clinical professionals to deliver strong operational and financial performance oncology services.
Your skills will have been developed in an NHS environment and you will bring energy and a resilient leadership style to the management team. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to guide, direct and support your team and colleagues as circumstances dictate.
The Specialty Business Manager is responsible for the patient pathways within the speciality ensuring that all operational performance targets are monitored, tracked and delivered. Working knowledge and understanding of cancer pathways, along with an in-depth understanding of the role of service as the tertiary provider for cancer services across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Leadership and management will be a key objective in the efficient and effective running of the Oncology services.
You will work in line with the Trust’s corporate objectives and will be expected to make a positive contribution to the provision of health services.
You will be experienced in communicating with clinical staff of all levels and will be expected to work in line with the Trust values and behave in a manner that facilitates the development of autonomous teams and individuals that are empowered, engaged and committed to continually delivering excellent care with compassion.
To provide effective line management and to effectively manage the budgets within the business unit.

To lead and manage the patient pathways within the Speciality business units (SBU) ensuring the best use of available resources to provide efficient and effective delivery of all services in line with best practice, quality standards and performance targets.
Work closely with clinical and operational colleagues to ensure efficient and effective management of theatres.
To develop a culture that encourages the use of initiative, individual and team responsibility and open communications.
To provide effective line management.
To effectively manage the Business Unit’s budget and finance
