Description:

This opportunity will be within the Acute Directorate (Maidstone locality) and based at Priority House. You will be working with an experienced multidisciplinary team of dedicated staff, who assess and treat patients with wide range of psychiatric disorders.
This is a 10 PA per working week post providing senior medical input and leadership . The post holder will be responsible for adults aged 18-65 whom are admitted.
This exciting opportunity has become available due to the previous post holder progressing in their career. Supervision will be provided by the ward Consultant.
Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including licence to practice.

MHA Section 12(2) Approval holders will contribute to a middle-tier non-residential on call rota. Specialty doctors who do not hold Section 12 (2) Approval are expected to work towards this and will be supported to do so.

  • To ensure all new admission are assessed by a senior doctor and have management plans in place within 24hrs of admission.
  • To prepare reports for mental health review tribunal and give evidence at the tribunals on behalf of the RC when needed.
  • To work in close liaison with the patient flow team and attendance at local bed management meetings and telephone conferences.
  • To seek the views of families and carers when practicable while making decisions about patients care and discharge.
