The appointees will be expected to participate in continuing professional development (CPD) and in relevant quality assurance and proficiency testing. They will participate in the histopathology rota covering histopathology and cytology reporting, specimen dissection and providing histopathology support at MDT meetings. In line with the Trusts academic strategies, which seeks to enable the Trusts to be at the forefront of clinical development, the appointee will be required to participate in the development of the departments research portfolio. The philosophy of the Trusts is to promote multidisciplinary working and learning.
Therefore, the appointee will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary teaching of students attached to the Department. Traditional teaching and mentoring of medical students will also be included in the responsibilities. The Departments are actively engaged in audit of its activities which is an ongoing process and to which the post-holder is expected to contribute. The post holder is expected to participate in the Departments rolling Clinical Governance half day meetings held monthly, maintain their own skills and competencies through Continual Professional Development (CPD), participate in Clinical Audit and Effectiveness work and Research and Development, as appropriate.
The post-holders will undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of their patients, and the running of their clinical department under the direction of the Lead Clinical and/or Clinical Director
