Description:
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust has an international reputation for high quality patient care, education and research and its partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research means it is the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe. Although this is not a training post, the Trust is committed to supporting the ongoing professional development for all staff.
We are currently accepting applications for the position of Specialty Doctor in Medical Oncology to join the Private Care Medical Team, based mainly at our Chelsea and Cavendish Square branch of the Trust, but with an expectation of some travel and support to the team on the Sutton site.
This is a full-time position.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced doctor to work closely with, and learn from, some of the world’s leading consultants in oncology. The day unit provides chemotherapy and holistic support to patients and their families. The service operates Monday to Friday.
Covid-19 vaccination is a condition of employment for this role, unless an exemption applies. The successful applicant may have contact with vulnerable service users and we will therefore seek proof of being fully vaccinated during the recruitment process.
The successful applicant would be working closely with the nursing and pharmacy teams to deliver a safe and customer focused service. Because our patients need to visit the unit on a regular basis, the Specialty Doctor role is an opportunity to build lasting relationships with your patients and their families, and will enable you to provide high quality, personalised care.
Applicants should have at least 3 years medical experience following full registration with the General Medical Council. It is also desirable that you will have at least 1 year general oncology experience. Qualification to MRCP or equivalent is also desirable
