Description:

The post offers comprehensive experience in a well-supported and closely supervised environment. Appropriate clinical and educational support is provided within the department. We have developed a clinical research facility within the department of ophthalmology with state of the art clinical facilities. Previous post holders have used the post to gain experience towards UK consultant accreditation. The post holder will participate in outpatient clinics, operating sessions and primary care sessions, including on-call, ensuring a competitive remuneration package.

This post offers clinical and surgical experience equivalent to the training posts recognized by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, including carrying out work based assessments suitable for a Royal College e-portfolio.
Medical Practitioners applying for the post should be fully registered with the General Medical Council and will be expected to have had at least three years of experience in ophthalmology.
The post holder will play a full part in the running of the Ophthalmology Department. This will involve ward work, outpatient and theatre sessions and assisting in the day to day running of the Ophthalmology Department. There is a possibility of clinics being held at Airedale District General Hospital
