Description:

We wish to appoint new Trust Grade Registrar (ST3+) colleague to join our Renal service at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT).
The post is based at Gloucester Royal Hospital and our inpatient wards are on 7th floor with a 53 bed base and responsibility for outlying wards. There will be opportunities to attend clinic, gain practical procedure skills, (e.g. dialysis lines and renal biopsies) and to manage acute renal referrals. There will also be a commitment to the acute medical “take”.
he post is suitable for anyone who has full MRCP and appropriate experience working in a general medical speciality at registrar level. Successful candidates will be expected to provide senior support to the junior members of the team, partake in full on calls which would include weekends and nights and also run lead cardiac arrests.
The successful candidate will have an Educational Supervisor and will be encouraged to attend teaching such as weekly departmental teaching, grand rounds, M&M meetings and journal club. There is also plenty of opportunity to partake in Quality Improvement and service development.
In the Renal Department, we have monthly Morbidity & Mortality meetings. Our Trust has a well-established framework for clinical governance that incorporates our clinical audit program. We are all expected to take part in developing clinical audit activities within the department to achieve clinical governance objectives in our agreed Divisional and Trust clinical governance programs.
We are a large organisation providing acute services from Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in Gloucester and Cheltenham General Hospital to a population of 652,475* in Gloucestershire as well as caring for patients from surrounding counties and beyond.
The Trust workforce is almost 8,000 strong and our caring and dedicated staff are recognised as providing good and outstanding patient-centred, high-quality emergency, elective and specialist care across a range of clinical areas.
If successful you will join a supportive and professional Renal team of 7 Consultants whom are dedicated to providing quality patient care. You will work closely with the ward nursing teams, the dialysis team and the administration teams.
