Role and Responsibilities
Purpose of the Role?
As a Pre-Sales Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership to the relevant Pre-Sales team, reporting to the Lead Pre-Sales Manager. Your primary responsibility is to offer leadership and to support with management functions to the Pre-Sales team who are responsible for the technical design and quotation support of the SEUK customer base: Distribution/Direct, the Key Account Managers (KAM’s), the Business Development Managers (BDM’s). This is broadly an office-based role, but it will also require visits to customers and projects in the field.
A primary focus is the management and development of strong Pre-Sales relationships with all customers and the external Sales Team by ensuring they have all of their design and quotation requests turned around accurately and in a timely manner.
This role requires a good knowledge and understanding of HVAC Industry Pre-Sales support functions and responsibilities, coupled with team leadership competencies that contribute to enhanced collaboration and outstanding performance. The holder is required to effectively balance leading a team whilst contributing to quotation and design turnaround to ensure that KPI’s are maintained.
Given the pivotal nature of this role within our business, it is probable that you will be called upon to contribute to various other projects while ensuring that the ongoing day-to-day deliverables remain uncompromised.
Your Main Objectives:

Working in conjunction with management:

  • Further develop and support market leading design & quotation service levels, including accuracy and turnaround
  • Manage accurate storage and maintenance of all designs for future revision and/or traceability
  • Support the Pre-sales team leverage all appropriate tools including DVM Pro, CAD and Sales Force dot.com to support business processes and customer requirements
  • Collaborate with the Senior Pre-Sales Manager and the Leadership Team to deliver change and identify future needs across the Climate Solutions organization.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision of day-to-day leadership to a Pre-Sales team
  • Working in conjunction with line manager and Samsung, review KPIs and key statistics to support Pre-Sales team and individual Goal setting / MBO activities.
  • Support and encourage the upskilling of Pre-sales colleagues in Samsung and competitor product knowledge.
  • Actively support and engage in the coaching and development of Pre-Sales colleagues, encouraging individual development plans and their supervision.
  • Ensure that high levels of effective communication is maintained with Operations / Order processing teams
  • Prepare and distribute monthly / Ad-Hoc reports to management team detailing Pre-sales performance MTD / YTD as appropriate.
  • Develop, document and optimise the key processes necessary to administrate the full end-to-end Pre-sales process.
  • Manage collation of competitors’ product information to provide useful sales tools and product information.
