BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent;
  • Certificate of Registration from CASLPO (or eligible for registration);
  • Experience with assessment and treatment of adult acquired communication disorders and dysphagia;
  • Ability to provide counselling to patients, families and other health care professionals;
  • Superior judgement, initiative, and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting;
  • Eligible to work in Canada;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Member of SAC;
  • Knowledge and experience with Acquired Brain Injury and the impact on cognitive-communication;
  • Knowledge of epilepsy and the impact on swallowing and communication;
  • Previous experience working with patients in neurosurgery or neurology programs;
  • Experience providing out-patient services;
  • Experience in program development or a role emerging position;
  • Familiarity with return to work programs;
  • Proficiency in English and French ¿ oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
