Description:

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, is recruiting a full-time Clinical Faculty certified in Spinal Cord Injury. This position will provide high-quality patient care primarily in the inpatient and outpatient settings within UT Health’s affiliate hospital, University Hospital, a University Health System facility, and additional outpatient services at the Medical Arts and Research Center (MARC) within UT Health Physicians. As part of a top-ranked medical school, this position will have the opportunity to participate in medical student and resident clinical supervision within one of the largest PM&R residency programs in the nation.
University Hospital is a Bexar County teaching hospital that provides a Level I Trauma Center for adults and Level II Trauma Center care for pediatrics in the South/Central Texas Region. University Hospital was also rated the best hospital in San Antonio in the 2015-2016 U.S. New & World Report for the fifth year in a row, and the sixth best hospital in Texas. The collaboration between UHS and UT Health Science Center supports a comprehensive clinical and teaching facility.
Candidates must have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent), have completed 4 years of an ACGME certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency, preferred completion of a Spinal Cord Injury fellowhship, and be boarded certified/board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and board certified/board eligible in Spinal Cord Injury. In addition, candidates must be eligible for a Texas Medical License, for certification by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, and for credentials with UT Medicine San Antonio and University Hospital. The rank and salary of this position will be dependent on the individual’s qualifications. Salaries are competitive and there are opportunities for specific effort allocation to be negotiated based on candidate preference.
