About the company
My client is a leading and Australian bank headquartered in Sydney. The bank has a portfolio of financial services brands and businesses and provide a broad range of banking and financial services in the Australian market. They have strong customer facing divisions around consumer, banking and institution banking
About the role
Because of the strict data compliance from the regulatory authorities, this part of the bank is tasked to uplift their business rules implementation and uplift control in their regulatory reporting space.
As a result, an exciting opportunity has come up in their offices in Sydney. As their strategy is to build and increase their technical delivery aspects, they are urgently looking for SQL developers to build and be responsible for the implementation of quality and operational reliable solutions to complex Business Data requirements in both major projects and ongoing continuous improvements.

What do I need?

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience within the IT Industry, specialising in Database development.
  • Experience in SQL development and querying is mandatory
  • Experience working in Microsoft SSIS ETL tool is mandatory
  • Experience working in QLIK tools will be nice to have.
  • Experience in batch processing with control-m or similar tools will be nice to have
  • Domain experience in the banking sector (especially in treasury) will be nice to have.
  • Knowledge of Data Governance over Critical Financial Data Elements and Data Quality metrics etc. will be nice to have.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and apply design standards to Database and Batch processing development, covering all aspects of the system within the sub-domain.
  • Working in database, batch and reporting optimisation processes to tune processes desirable. (SQL Server 2014/2019, SSIS, Control-M, QlikView) and SSIS development is mandatory.
  • Writing SQL Queries and providing inputs to various ETL and data warehousing projects.
  • Diagnosis and root-cause analysis of problems, by employing a strong eye for detail and troubleshooting skills.
  • End to end accountability for implemented solutions. Adherence to Organisational Framework and Processes.
  • Participate in sprint planning, with a keen eye for detail of critical path delivery through the various milestones to Production.
  • Be interested in data as it pertains to Data Governance over Critical Financial Data Elements, Data Quality metrics etc.
