Description:
Robert Half is actively looking for an accomplished Senior Accountant for a temporary to hire opportunity. Working as a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant opening is located in the Santa Monica, California area and will offer you great experience, strong compensation, and an attractive benefits package. Responsibilities
- Analyze financial results (benchmarks, trends, performance metrics)
- Carry out monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
- Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
- Compose Balance Sheet account reconciliations
- Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
- Realize compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls by working with business partners
- Ad-hoc projects as necessary
- Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
- Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
- A strong track record of communicating, both verbally and in writing, with functional department managers
- Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
- Skilled with ERP systems
- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
- Proven knowledge of month end closings
- Knowledge of journal entries
- Practical knowledge of Inventory Accounting
- Invoice Coding experience
- Account analysis experience preferred
- Quality experience with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics
- Accruals experience
- General familiarity with Fixed Asset Accounting
- General ledger experience
- Well-founded grasp of Bank Account Reconciliation
- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are highly desired
- 3+ years of overall general accounting experience
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
- Strong organization skills
- SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
- Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
