Description:

Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for a Senior Accountant who’s looking to build their career in a thriving, dynamic setting in the Winnipeg, Manitoba area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for producing financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every day

  • Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
  • Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
  • Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
  • When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests
  • Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
  • Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
  • Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process
  • Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
  • pursuing a designation is preferred
  • Proficient in ERP systems
  • Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • 5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience preferred
  • Foundational knowledge in general ledger
  • Journal entries experience highly desired
  • Practical knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
  • Solid understanding of account reconciliation
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Well-founded grasp of month end closings
  • Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations
  • Quality experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM
  • General familiarity with Daily Reconciliation
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
  • Must have excellent time management skills
