Description:

Are you looking for work as a Senior Accountant? Robert Half currently has an opportunity with a growing client in the Service industry. If you are an experienced Accountant with an aptitude for adaptability, then you might feel at home in this Senior Accountant position. We would love to hear from you as soon as possible about this immediate Senior Accountant opening! This long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the Richmond, Virginia area.

Key responsibilities

  • Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  • Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
  • Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
  • Technical accounting applications relating to compliance and accounting standards
  • Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
  • Analyze financial results (benchmarks, trends, performance metrics)
  • Administer monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
  • Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
  • Organize quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
  • Financial analysis experience
  • Lease Accounting experience preferred
  • GAAP Accounting experience required
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of technical accounting
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
  • Current and relevant ERP system experience
  • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
  • Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
  • 5+ years of overall general accounting experience
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Ability to work well with functional department managers
  • Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate
  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired
  • Strong analytical capabilities and discernment
  • High attention to detail
