Sr. Accountant

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant based in LOUISVILLE, Kentucky. This role involves a range of accounting responsibilities in a telecom provider setting. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in reviewing and updating policies and procedures, performing account reconciliations, and providing support and leadership to staff accountants.

• Review and update all policies and procedures for Home Health and Hospice as needed
• Perform account reconciliations and trend analysis for all assigned accounts
• Monitor compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company procedures
• Generate necessary reports and participate in related monthly accounting activities to ensure timely ledger close
• Provide support and leadership to staff accountants, including reviewing and posting their journal entries
• Manage all internal and external auditor requests for documentation
• Assist in special projects as assigned
• Utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environment
• Exercise independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work according to applicable regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar.
• Demonstrated proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Previous experience with bank reconciliations is necessary.
• Must possess a strong understanding of general ledger management.
• Experience in preparing and posting journal entries is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
• Experience in month-end close processes is essential.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Professional certification such as CPA is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of current financial regulations and standards.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
