We seek an upbeat and experienced Senior Actuarial Analyst/ Team lead in our Corporate Actuarial Department.
Being part of the Actuarial Function, Corporate Actuarial, you will assist in supporting the Chief Actuary to fulfill the SII regulatory requirements associated with the role, which includes ensuring the Internal Model continues to remain fit for purpose, providing opinion to the Board on Reserves, Underwriting, Reinsurance, the Business Plan in addition to the Solvency II capital requirement. Through its new partnership relationship with the Risk team since 2023, our Actuarial Function collaborates with the Risk team in delivering 2nd line oversight of insurance risks from a quantitative perspective.
As part of these roles, we collaborate globally with Group and AIL Actuarial Functions, the Global Actuarial team, the local Economic Capital team, the Risk team, the Finance team, and the pricing teams. This role provides broad exposure to various partners in our global organization.

What you’ll do

  • Support to ensure the appropriateness of methodologies and assumptions used in risk calibrations and the calculation of the Solvency II capital requirements by working with the AVP, Economic Capital Corporate Actuarial, and Aviva Group to review, challenge and validate proposed changes/no change to Solvency II Economic Capital methodology, modelling and processes, calibrations, and production of the results.
  • Ensure governance requirements are met by
  • Support in assessing the sufficiency and quality of data used for risk calibrations and calculating the Solvency II capital requirements.
  • Working with the Economic Capital team in addressing weaknesses and limitations of the model
  • Management of weakness and limitation log and inventory of evidence with support from GI Global Actuarial Solutions
  • Support the Chief Actuary in providing an opinion on the Solvency II capital requirement, Reserves, the Plan, Underwriting and Reinsurance by working collaboratively with Pricing, Reserving, Reinsurance and Finance.
  • Support Model Risk Management Business Standard and Model Risk Independent Validation Business Standard by supporting reviews as required and producing documents that meet the standards
  • Support delivery of risk reviews for priority areas and highlight customer impact where relevant
  • Support IMIV of Internal Model if needed and appropriate

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through the technical implementation details while appreciating the big picture.

  • Strong teammate who is also able to work independently.
  • Diploma or degree in actuarial, mathematics, economics, finance or other related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 CAS exams
  • Minimum 3 years of actuarial technical experience, from fields including but not limited to reserving, capital modelling, Solvency II and/or pricing.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in property/casualty insurance industry.
  • Relevant financial services sector experience and experience of working in a regulated environment.
