Description:
REQUIRED SKILLS
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
- 10+ years’ experience in a related electrical engineering field.
- Relevant electronics design experience, either in a professional or academic setting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, related skills in technical writing and communication.
- Ability to travel up to 25% on a regular basis and 40% occasionally.
- Relevant internship/co-op experience preferred.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
- Aptitude for electrical product design and application in power distribution products.
- Familiarity with the NEC, UL standards and various North American certifications.
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment .
Responsibilities:
- Models high standards of conduct and leadership.
- Accomplishes engineering human resource objectives by assisting group manager with recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Identifies business needs and process improvements for the European Applications team, develops projects to drive improvement.
- Maintain an expert level of product and application knowledge.
- Oversees and contributes to the design and development of equipment or redesign of existing equipment to fulfill customer needs.
- Provide technical support to sales and to customers onsite or remotely as required on topics including but not limited to product ratings, compliance with codes and Standards, safety, functionality, customization, troubleshooting, installation, and pricing.
- Onsite training, troubleshooting and rework.
- Develop and deliver technical training material.
- Assists in research and the preparation of reports on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment.
- Complete System Layouts. Design layouts of busway systems based on customer drawings and input.
- Product testing towards certifications and ratings.
- Technical Support and guidance to EMEA Services.
