Description:

AbelZeta is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel cancer immunotherapy products. AbelZeta operates a state-of-the-art facility in Rockville, Maryland with five GMP rooms in order to augment its global research and development capabilities and to support clinical development of multiple cell therapy platform technologies in the US. We are on a rapid growth trajectory and have a highly energized and accomplished team driving to new frontiers of care for cancer patients. We are seeking a (Sr.) Associate, Human Resource and Administration to join our team.
The HR Associate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, including recruitment, HR administration, employee relations, and front desk backup. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting employees throughout their employment lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • 2-3 years of related experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR credential preferred.

Recruitment:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to facilitate the interview process and provide support as needed.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Conduct initial phone screenings of candidates to assess qualifications and fit for the role.
  • Assist with the preparation of offer letters, employment contracts, and new hire documentation

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment:

HR Administration:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new employees, including conducting orientation sessions and ensuring all required paperwork is completed.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, department meetings, team-building events, holiday parties, etc.

Employee Relations:

  • Assist in resolving employee inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to ensure a positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.

Front Desk Backup:

  • Serve as a backup for the front desk, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and directing inquiries to the appropriate department or personnel.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages, ensuring timely distribution and handling.
  • Maintain the breakroom by restocking supplies, ensuring cleanliness, and organizing as needed.
  • Order lunch for meetings and events, coordinating with vendors and ensuring timely delivery.

  • Performs other duties as assigned
