What you’ll be doing
As a member of CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology team, the Senior Consultant, Business Systems Analysis will be responsible for providing advice and consultation for business application developments to ensure growth. The role provides technical leadership, interpreting complex information and participating in client business review sessions to influence decisions regarding the use of technology to support objectives. The Senior Consultant, Business Systems Analysis develops, recommends and facilitates activities required for the application of new technologies to support existing processes and client needs. The role provides expertise to project managers, coordinators and directors on technology functionality and utilization, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics. The role independently resolves a variety of ambiguous challenges with organization-wide impacts, devising new methods using strong analytic and inductive thinking.
You can effectively perform all work activities remotely and will only be required to be on-site on an occasional basis. OR You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-2 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

  • Gathering and Documenting Requirements: Collaborate closely with business partners to gather intricate business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions, ensuring alignment with project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, actively listen, and pose pertinent questions to ensure that solutions meet requirements. The primary focus will be on the Rates desk, but due to the cross-asset nature of the risk management platform, there will be opportunities to work with other asset classes as well.
  • Solution Design: Utilize Agile methodologies to develop client-focused solutions that align with business requirements. Prepare and create user stories covering areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and engage in discussions with the development team to finalize the solution.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide support as a subject matter expert throughout the end-to-end project implementation, offering guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Foster a collaborative work environment and assist team members in resolving organizational, operational, and process-related challenges.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience with: 6+ years in a BSA role within Capital Markets, leading projects and designing solutions. With the ability to elicit requirements and write strong documentation. Excellent abilities to manage stakeholders and having strong communication skills is a must. You have strong abilities around analyzing and understanding data, as well as gap analysis expertise. You have at least 3 years of experience with SQL, Jira/Confluence, Excel pivot tables, Visio, and other Microsoft office applications. You have strong problem solving skills, stakeholder management abilities, and exceptional organizational skills. Experience with Postman, Broadridge, and FIS, as well as working in an Agile environment, would be advantageous. Additionally, experience in account onboarding or migrations, funding and payment transfers, and writing specifications for API development within the Capital Markets domain would be highly beneficial
