What you’ll be doing
This role is focused on designing, developing, aligning and delivering “best in class” People Analytics, that will enable CIBC leaders to monitor their human capital in the areas of attraction, retention, talent and inclusion and diversity. This role will design and develop complex custom workflows and dashboards in Alteryx and Tableau, in addition to custom reports and dashboards in Workday. It will require the ability to summarize and communicate information to Senior Executives to provide insights on workforce trends, enable fact-based decision making and answer strategic questions about the workforce. Furthermore, this role will often be responsible for providing technical and professional advice / guidance on complex and conceptual issues to more junior specialized consultants and analysts. The creativity, innovation and lateral thinking to analyze and develop new approaches/solutions and to address organizational issues/concerns are very important aspects of the job.

How you’ll succeed

  • Advanced Dashboard Development – Develop advanced custom dashboards using Tableau that translate business questions and human capital requirements into dashboards that provide insight utilizing visualization best practices and employing People Analytics enterprise standards.
  • Advanced Workday Reporting – Partner with various HR functions and subject matter experts, to implement/configure, gather/document/socialize requirements, test and optimize custom reporting, dashboards and calculated fields within Workday.
  • People Analytics Best Practices – Utilize creative thinking to modify or select the most suitable approach/method of analysis, and metrics/measures that results in providing CIBC with optimum solutions to business issues/challenges. Develop understanding of new data sources, data fields and values, data flows, measures, metrics definitions and calculations, data parameters and typical data anomalies that can occur.
  • Analytical/Problem Solving Skills – Conduct thorough investigations to fully understand underlying business issues. Conduct “deep dive” data mining and deliver complex analyses that present comprehensive views on the workforce. Conduct specialized analyses for the purpose of enhancing and upgrading existing products and services by researching, analyzing, and assessing the impact, effectiveness, and feasibility of proposed changes.
  • Consulting & Communication - Translate complex data, business challenges and priorities into human capital requirements and insights that inform strategy. Draw out and shape high level business requirements from key stakeholders including senior leaders and translate into detailed, actionable work plans. Communicate and provide support to internal business partners on analyses to ensure partners understand how best to interpret the data and information in dashboards. Leverage exceptional influence and relationship management skills to engage key stakeholders to move them towards standardizing analytical solutions.
  • Leadership and Coaching - Build team and individual capabilities. Creating a positive work environment by being an effective role model and by creating a winning work environment. Mentor, coach and conduct knowledge transfer activities to raise the bar for analytics professionals.
  • Project Management – Prepare project plans that may contain several work packages (e.g. product deliverables, completion dates).

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience in the creative analyses, ideally within HR. You must have experience in the development/delivery of custom and standardized reports, dashboards, and presentations for a Senior Management and Executive audience.
  • You can demonstrate a strong technical skillset to perform complex analyses utilizing Tableau, Alteryx, Workday Reporting and MS Office suite of tools (MS Access, MS Excel, etc)
