JOB SUMMARY:

This data scientist position will require a collaborative leader skilled in building analytics and reporting solutions using R/Shiny. Commitment to data integrity, the capability to solve highly analytical problems, and the ability to work on multiple projects at once are critical for this position.
Responsibilities:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering or related field of study
  • Experience in modularized code in Shiny app development
  • 5+ years of R data cleaning, analysis, model building experience
  • 5+ years of writing robust, maintainable, and scalable code in Shiny app development
  • 2+ years of SQL experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Masters degree in computer science, software engineering or related field of study
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • 10+ years of R data cleaning, analysis, model building experience
  • 10+ years of writing robust, maintainable, and scalable code in Shiny app development
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Automotive, chemistry/chemical, or petroleum additive related academic background or work experience

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop R/shiny applications to solve data science and business analytics challenges
  • Partner with various stakeholders to translate business requirements to technical specifications
  • Establish software engineering best practices and provide technical training to team members
  • Partner with multiple stakeholders including clients, new product development, data engineers and data scientists to develop scalable solutions
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of computing tools and help grow the in-house knowledge base of the full stack data science development
