Position Description

CGI has an immediate need for a Sr. Data Scientist to join our financial services team. This position is based in either Reston, VA or Plano/Dallas TX, or anywhere in the US where CGI has an office in the Central/Eastern Time Zones.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Data Science Program. The Senior Associate will help us build security models provide assistance in building, improving, and actualizing risk processes related to model risk. As a key member of the team, you can anticipate significant interaction with the entire global MRM group and model risk stakeholders, where you will need to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and cultures. Possible examples of work product include analyzing, reporting and automating analysis of MRM Framework compliance and results, undertaking special projects to work with MRM stakeholders to identify and achieve greater consistency and efficiencies through enhancements to processes and reporting within the MRM framework, playing a key role in maintaining the accuracy of MRM’s reporting platform, supporting model inventory management activities, drafting model risk compliance statistics and other MRM framework updates for the Model Risk Management Committee, and supporting model guideline compliance with corporate requirements.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
8-10 years of experience in consulting, data analysis, model risk management, project management, or a related field is preferred
Excellent quantitative problem-solving skills with experience in stochastic modeling, statistics, and machine learning.
Hands-on experience in programming Python or R.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English and the ability to explain complex problems in a simple way.
Good understanding of financial products and markets.
Team player skills, motivation, and ability to work independently within a global and diverse team.

Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $59,700.00 - $146,900.00.
