Are you looking for an exciting new role as a Sr Environmental & Regulatory Advisor at Suncor?
In this role, you will support 7 fuel terminals (2 in Quebec, 5 in Ontario) and the St. Clair Ethanol Plant in Mooretown, Ontario. The terminals and plant are part of the Products division of the Operations & Logistics business. This role will require periodic travel to operating sites in Ontario and Quebec (~20%).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Management or Engineering (or related field of study)
  • Minimum 10 years directly related experience
  • Advanced to expert level skill and knowledge in environmental aspects, impacts, regulatory requirements and effective controls
  • Experience in communicating and interacting with regulators on environmental requirements and issues
  • Trained in formal incident investigation techniques and process, including root cause analysis
  • Experience in conducting field and process assurance (audits, assessments, etc.)
  • Experience working in the oil and gas midstream business

Accountabilities:

  • Primary Environment and Regulatory (E&R) support for Ontario and Quebec fuel terminals (7) and the St. Clair Ethanol Plant
  • Provides E&R advice and expertise with minimal direction or oversight
  • Works with terminal and plant business leaders to design and improve E&R programs, procedures and practices
  • Supports and advises on environmental regulatory requirements including periodic reporting to regulators
  • Supports implementation and sustainment of OEMS process to manage environmental aspects and regulatory requirements
  • Maintains oversight on environmental compliance activities and tasks at operating locations
  • Lead or support environmental incident investigations and corrective actions, when appropriate
  • Provide regular stewardship and analysis of environmental performance
  • Work in partnership with Health & Safety and Emergency Management teams as required

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Ethanol facility in Ontario, located at 535 Rokeby Line, Mooretown, ON
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This role will require significant and regular travel to operating sites in western Canada (~20%)
