Do you have strong reporting and analytical skills that you can use to support our Supply, Trading and Optimization (ST&O) business unit. You will provide financial analysis, performance reporting and planning services to a very dynamic, complex, and evolving part of the business responsible for the supply and optimization of refined products in Canada. Specifically, you will support our Environmental Commodities team whose responsibility is to manage Suncor’s renewable fuel and GHG emission reduction requirements through supply and optimization activities, leveraging operational and commercial opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • University degree (Finance, Economics or Engineering); financial designation (CPA, CFA, and/or MBA) or equivalent would be beneficial
  • Experience in a Finance/Business Planning & Analysis role (Preference for Downstream oil and gas operations)
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven success in business partnering outside of Finance
  • Proven analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to communicate complex information into meaningful insights
  • Naturally curious and can ask the right questions that will help shape strategy
  • Self-starter, work well in a dynamic environment, comfortable with ambiguity

Responsibilities:

  • Be the Finance support partner for our Environmental Commodities team in our ST&O business unit, understanding key business value drivers and performance metrics to provide strategic insights to the business
  • Analyze Suncor’s integrated Downstream margins across our different distribution channels, partnering up with multiple business stakeholders both in our ST&O business and Sales & Marketing organization
  • Support financial forecasting for the ST&O business in addition to annual budget and business planning deliverables working closely with the business to translate key planning assumptions
  • Perform complex quantitative and qualitative analysis and clearly communicate findings to a non-technical audience
  • Identify and work with others on continuous improvement, ad-hoc initiatives and non-routine requests for financial information and analysis

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
