THIS POSITION IS BASED IN BELLEVILLE, ON

Kennametal’s Finance team is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the lead financial business partner to the company’s Canada team at its Belleville, ON office. In providing financial leadership and recommending process and profit improvement actions to the function, the team member in this role will be collaborating with colleagues at various levels in the organization, including senior management and executives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the country finance activities, directing projects, processes and functional and business objectives for multiple organizations and facilities
  • Oversee tax filings and installment payments in accordance with relevant regulations
  • Responsible for accounting and compliance matters for the country, including monthly financial close process
  • Lead financial analysis and decision support related to cost reduction programs and capital spend
  • Responsible for financial planning and analysis, forecasting and annual plan preparation
  • Oversee the effective deployment of capital within the business, helping with capital project preparation and approval
  • Ensure country’s compliance with internal control requirements
  • Ensure SOX compliance and oversight
  • Effectively manage third party service providers
  • Support ad hoc reporting, analyses and projects aligned with company functional objectives

Skills/Requirements:

  • Must be either a permanent resident of Canada, or a Canadian citizen
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, with an MBA or master’s concentrated in Finance preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • CPA license and experience preferred
  • Experience with SAP and OneStream a plus but not required
  • Experience in a multinational, manufacturing company
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in performing projects with cross-functional teams, implementing process improvements and profit/costs improvement actions
  • Ability to translate data into meaningful actions and recommendations for the business
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Ambition and potential to advance through the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
