Description:
We are in the process of recruiting a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our team in Hampton, Virginia. This role is crucial to our operations, as it involves identifying key levers to drive business improvement, providing leadership to ensure implementation of business improvement opportunities, and managing financial reporting requirements. You will have the opportunity to work in a diverse and dynamic environment, where you will be responsible for deploying business unit initiatives, forecasting, planning and analyzing business results, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Identify key levers to drive business improvement and provide leadership to ensure the implementation of business improvement opportunities.
- Establish targeted goals for performance measures of quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory optimization, and profitability in conjunction with management.
- Deploy business unit initiatives and assist with daily reporting management.
- Analyze data for decision-making and tracking performance progress.
- Assist with the capital appropriation process and post-project reviews.
- Ensure the completion of our internal controls as per Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Be prepared with information to help support decision making both upon request and for future planning based.
- Anticipate and solve problems from a data-informed perspective; forecast accurately and track closely; support interventions in ways that influence numbers.
- Review decisions and data to glean increased understanding; incorporate learning into future decision-making support.
- Understand market and organizational conditions and prioritize efforts accordingly; support the management of tension between revenue and costs.
- Proactively provide information about data, forecasting, and financials to enable the best possible decision-making for individual leaders and the organization.
- Maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Financial Analyst.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Cost Accounting and Account Reconciliation is required.
- Must possess strong Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insights.
- Experience in Inventory Planning & Reporting is essential.
- Must have a track record of measuring and improving Financial Performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – are crucial.
- Proficiency in financial software applications and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills, is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ethical behavior and confidentiality is crucial in this role.
