We are looking for a GIS Analyst to join our team for a 6-month contract with the possibility of an extension. This position reports to the Director of Planning & Engineering.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist the GIS team in providing support for data conversion, systems

    integration, and system development/implementation

  • Support and design mobile applications, web-based GIS applications

    (mobile & desktop) utilizing the existing GIS Enterprise system

  • Troubleshoot GIS technology and data issues, problem analysis and

    integration and solution development

  • ETL processes and data modeling (As-built migration, and infrastructure

    information)

  • Manipulate and integrate corporate data within a relational database

    management system in an enterprise environment

  • Perform quality control procedures to maintain quality and accuracy

  • Automated geo-spatial processes using Python scripting, Model builder
  • Structured Query Language (SQL), ArcObjects, Java and HTML5 experience
  • Adopt industry standard data management practices
  • Use GIS concepts, principles, and methods to analyze systems and data
  • Research Geo-spatial technology to help develop methods to benefit the

    decision-making process that will result in the quality of life for city residents

  • Maintain the enterprise database to ensure stored information is available

    when required by stakeholders

  • Infrastructure data capture from as-built drawings and mobile techniques

  • Integration of geo-spatial data via web-based delivery using on-site and/or

    cloud software

  • Sound knowledge of smart data capture processes, techniques, and

    devices

  • Prepare process mapping and workflow documentation for GIS activities

    and general business analysis

  • Maintain close working relationships with internal and external contacts

Who You Are:

  • 2 or 3 year Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems
  • 6-8 years of experience in a collaborative Geo-spatial system and tools
  • Experienced in troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue

    resolution

  • Specialized knowledge of GIS sub-disciplines including data analysis, data

    standards, cartographic product development, data, and surveying /mapping

  • Strong understanding of GIS and its applications using ArcGIS product suite

    (ArcGIS Enterprise architecture, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD software, FME and SQL query language

  • Ability to work comfortably with Python scripting
  • High level of interpersonal skill and diplomacy to interact with internal and

    external clients

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, ability to work independently under

    general supervision

  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact both inside and outside the

    team

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work on internal systems for long periods of time
  • Ability to work overtime as workload requires
