Lantronix is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer I to handle projects through conception and derive hardware requirements from design through to delivery and scheduling.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in Hardware development of embedded systems
  • Experience handling projects from the initial concept phase to the mass production, familiar with the process for hardware tasks for each development stage.
  • Experience in the integration of wireless technology (Cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth)
  • Experience in RF design and RF signal validation using spectrum analyzer and other tools
  • Experience in development of systems based on ARM processors
  • Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with Altium and OrCAD schematic and layout tools
  • Experience with Wireless certifications (CE, RED,FCC, PTCRB, and carrier certs)
  • Hands on assembly (soldering) for rework of prototypes during debug
  • Special skills and knowledge of RF (Cellular-WiFi-Bluetooth-Antenna Desing), Networking, PoE
  • Understand Embedded System Architecture including CPU (ARM, RISC,X86)
  • Create, modify, execute and understand Powershell / Bash Test scripts for EVT Tests

Responsibilities:

  • Derive hardware requirements/design and deliver quality work products according to schedule and effort estimates
  • Develop schematics, BOMs, and work with the layout team to release prototypes
  • Bring up new hardware while working with the software developers
  • Perform EVT validation of new products per electrical, environmental, and thermal requirements
  • Assist the certification team with regulatory testing
  • Work with the manufacturing team to address manufacturing line and test issues
  • Mentor junior team members and assist in design reviews of projects assigned to other engineers
  • Stay abreast of technical area and share technical information with fellow team members
