Description:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree or HR certification preferred.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a Human Resources generalist role.
  • Previous experience with recruiting professional/exempt level roles.
  • Previous experience in supporting a large hourly workforce.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Able to influence, build trust, and manage conflict.
  • Ability to take initiative; strong analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships, attract candidates and make selection decisions.
  • Ability to use MS Outlook, Word and Excel proficiently.
  • Knowledge of behavioral based interviewing techniques.
  • Excellent organizational skills, facilitation skills and solid knowledge of HR related laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working and running reports in an HRIS system.
  • Capability of working with an applicant tracking system.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the HR Manager to support supervisors, managers, and other leaders of the organization to achieve business objectives through the HR function.
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to recruit for salaried roles; including creating job descriptions, sourcing, interviewing, and working with hiring managers to ensure the most qualified candidate is selected.
  • Provides one on one coaching and career development counsel to managers and employees.
  • Advises managers with regard to disciplinary action, company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures, and state and federal labor laws applicable to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Presents HR related topics in monthly plant meetings to operations team.
  • Responds to, investigates, and resolves employee complaints and employee relations issues, such as equal opportunity and harassment claims, and resolve conflict resolution strategies.
  • Administers leave of absence programs including but not limited to; FMLA and short-term disability.
  • Assists Human Resources department on other assignments and/or special projects as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
