REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • You will have 8+ years of experience in internal communications in a corporate and/or health care environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications (Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising.
  • Experience working on enterprise projects that have company-wide impact
  • Experience working with, and communicating on behalf of, senior leaders
  • You know how to make things happen without a clearly defined path ahead of you
  • You have experience building and leveraging trust-based relationships across all levels of a company
  • You have experience successfully exercising diplomacy and confidentiality
  • You have experience leading change management initiatives
  • You are a strong communicator and writer
  • You have experience with internal communications efforts in growth stage companies
  • You understand diversity, equity and inclusion programs, practices and initiatives and understand how to incorporate and elevate them in company communications

Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

Working closely with Alignment Healthcare’s VP of Corporate Communications, senior leaders, employees, human capital, marketing, communications, clinical and operations teams, the Internal Communications Manager will develop and implement our company-wide Internal Communications Strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will develop the internal communication strategy and collaborate across the enterprise with function such as marketing, HR, finance and legal.
  • You be involved in day-to-day communications with Alignment Healthcare employees as well as be a key anchor of our company culture – finding ways to embrace and amplify our values at every turn
  • You will work closely with leadership on managing and implementing communications cascades, for sometimes sensitive communications and announcements
  • You will contribute to the creation of some of our key content and assets for the company, including Alignment’s All-Employee Meetings, Leadership Meetings, Board Meetings and memos.
  • We are continuing to increase our investment in our employee intranet, The Wire, and you will be one of our key drivers to help us think about our content strategy and how we increase usage across the company
  • We host many events (some virtual and some in person), and you’ll serve as the logistics extraordinaire to ensure they run smoothly
  • You will also be crucial in managing our internal communications calendar for the company, ensuring we are highlighting important milestones and events as well as reinforcing and aligning with our key business goals
  • What success looks like:
  • You can build trust-based relationships across the company, roles and levels.
  • You assume ownership of the internal communications calendar and processes within 60 days and can.
  • Ensure we’re on track and executing, as designed
  • Creatively offering additional formats and opportunities to engage employees
  • Always integrating new ideas or identifying moments we may be missing
  • You can own and run programming for company events (Leadership Meetings, All-Employee Meetings, other internal events) and are able to effectively partner in support of other key stakeholders (Human Capital, Employee Resource Groups, etc.).
  • Proactively identify 2 – 3 major new ideas or moments to boost employee engagement per year and consistently staying apprised of the latest trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to act quickly and remain level-headed while upholding our values and exuding grace and humility.
  • Ability to consistently deliver and be relied on to own and run different aspects of our internal communications
