Description:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong background in accounting or finance experience.

  • Previous people leadership experience with demonstrated people development success.
  • Proven history of building organizational relationships with peers and operating partners
  • Ability to identify process and control gaps and champion continuous improvement attitude.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems is a must (E1 and SAP knowledge is a strong preference), knowledge of PowerBI is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to summarise information and present it in a concise and effective manner.
  • Strong leadership skills and an initiative to inspire change with a hands-on approach and a driven focus on results.
  • You thrive in a sophisticated, multi-level environment and can work cross-functionally with individuals and teams.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Have a masters’ degree in accounting or the equivalent through education and experience – CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of USGAAP is an asset
  • Experience in production and/or distribution environment is an asset
  • Experience in Cost Accounting

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Costing & Inventory team which consists of 6 team members
  • Key-role in ensuring correct accounting for transfers of goods in the international network of manufacturing and distribution facilities.
  • Ownership of E1 and SAP cost accounting and inventory systems including product costing, inventory control, variance analysis and calculation of excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Perform periodic closes ensuring accuracy, timeliness, consistency and completeness of the Inventory ledgers.
  • Support technical accounting questions related to the financial close and understand the accounting impact of proposed transactions regarding different functions and ensure GAAP is maintained.
  • Present and provide monthly reporting and important metrics to key partners.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls regarding cycle counting and inventory management.
  • Risk assess and create annual cycle count audit program for EMEA.
  • Support the Global Annual Cost Roll.
  • Support External Audit with interim and year end audit requests.
  • Business partner on a Global and local level with Business Finance, FP&A, Manufacturing, Customer Service etc to maintain transparency and address issues across departments/sites.
  • Challenge the status quo with aim to improve processes, from data extracts over automation opportunities to evaluate tasks on their added customer value ensuring focus on what really matters to ensure accurate accounting.
  • Develop and grow your team in line with the people development philosophy within the company.
