Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Vertiv has a transformational leadership opportunity available to significantly impact the organization and to drive global Line of Business programs. The Sr. Manager, Global Program Management will develop and direct the strategic planning of multiple global and regional programs.

  • Oversees coordination of personnel and resources required to successfully complete projects. Manages a shared services sub-function within a broader departmental function.
  • Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support Vertiv and the 1P UPS and KVM and Serial Lines of Business

Responsibilities :

  • Contribute to the management, operation, and performance of the 1P UPS and KVM and Serial LOB; to ensure it meets its targets and supports the delivery of organizational and strategic goals.
  • Partner with Line of Business Offering Management and Engineering Leadership to ensure that business goals and priorities are achieved.
  • Proactively engage with business leadership to identify opportunities for business improvements.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities in the Program Management Office (PMO)
  • Manage the PMO team and provides performance feedback and goal setting; conducts annual performance assessments and skill development and training.
  • Manage the administration for project submissions and approvals through the agreed prioritization and approval process, maintaining a pipeline of approved projects.
  • Ensures a clear and consistent approach is in place to manage risk with alignment to the Finance & Business risk registers and the corporate risk register.
  • Collate qualitative and quantitative information on project performance for the preparation and production of project reports for internal management purposes.
  • Work closely with Line of Business teams (as well as internal and external project partners where appropriate) to devise, develop and deliver appropriate and proportionate systems to evaluate key activities at a project level.
  • Provide advice and support to project partners on how project evidence and information must be presented and reported.
  • Ensure that information recorded in both electronic and hard copy meets with internal and external audit standards.
  • Ability to meet cost, time and quality objectives when delivering projects.
  • Manage Global 1P UPS and KVM and Serial priority and program registers.
  • Whole program milestones delivered against plan.
  • Drive PMO processes, tools, and governance across the two lines of business.
  • Production of consistent project artifacts such as project plans, risk register, status reporting and financial reporting

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related technical degree; electrical engineering degree or related experience preferred.
  • At least 10 years in technical product development, engineering management, program management, or directly related experience.
  • Approximately 15-20% domestic / international travel is required.
  • Participation in global calls outside of normal working hours.Experience managing teams preferred.
