A day in the life of a Capital One Sr. Manager, Internal Communications & Associate Experiences.

This is an opportunity to work in a fast paced environment where everyday is different. Capital One is actively seeking a strategic, innovative and creative thinker with sharp attention to detail to lead the Internal Communications team.
You will work with and influence groups across the business, including HR, Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, and senior executives. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive and compelling communication strategies to effectively engage and inform our associates across all levels of the organization, as well as providing support in event planning and execution, written, verbal and digital communication skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business or a related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in communications or marketing, including measurement strategies for communications tactics
  • Results-oriented leader who can build a strong relationships across the company at all levels

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with writing for e-communications and online channels, including intranets and portals
  • Exceptional written, oral and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and change priorities quickly
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate a variety of work and tasks with attention to detail

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a high performing team, fostering a strong team culture, while supporting and developing direct reports
  • Lead the development of Team Canada’s internal communications strategy, aligned messaging, and storytelling through driving a multi-channel communications strategy
  • Act as the lead writer on all internal communications
  • Deliver compelling communication plans against a variety of Team Canada initiatives, including: culture and values, strategic organizational changes, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, and business performance efforts
  • Lead annual Mission Day strategy and content development
  • Own the development and execution of senior leadership and critical communications, with the ability to pivot as business needs shift
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and execute communications tactics, plans, and strategies that contribute to a consistent voice and narrative and support Team Canada’s key objectives
  • Leverage key stakeholders as subject matter experts and consultants and ensure our internal communications reflect the unique perspective of our community
  • Conduct interviews, research, and actively collaborate with our internal clients for the successful strategic planning and delivery of communications deliverables
  • Identify KPIs for programs and put additional measurement tools in place
  • Measure, track, and analyze data analytics, trends, and performance across all channels and report and recommend proposed alterations to communications strategies on an ongoing basis
  • Partner with cross functional teams to develop an annual calendar of associate experiences & events
  • Manage budgets including, but not limited to, recommending spend, soliciting quotes and RFPs, and submitting invoices
