POSITION OVERVIEW:

Alkami Technology is in search of an exceptionally skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineering Manager to join our dynamic Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in network engineering and a passion for driving automation, ownership, and customer satisfaction. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping and executing the network infrastructure strategy while leading a team of talented engineers.
The ideal candidate for this senior role possesses a strong sense of urgency and takes ownership of daily tasks. They excel in navigating technical challenges, collaborating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Remaining updated on technological advancements, you proactively recommend the integration of new products and policies to enhance efficiency and productivity. Above all, you embody a commitment to excellence, recognizing that delivering results accurately and efficiently is paramount for both Alkami and our valued customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams
• 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing large-scale network infrastructures
• Network certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE/JNCIS/JNCIE or equivalent training or practical experience
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux environments
• Hands-on experience with network hardware and software, such as Cisco CSRs and Palo Alto firewalls
• Experience with cloud networking platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Proficiency in network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Terraform) to automate repetitive tasks and streamline operational workflows.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience effectively
• Expert analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
• Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Desire to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
• Ability to participate in on-call needs as necessary

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Master’s degree in technology or related field
• Experience with network and application load balancing (NGINX, AWS NLB, AWS ALB)
• Experience automating tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or other scripting technologies or tools
• Familiarity with JIRA or related ticket/task management software
• Experience building and supporting AWS network infrastructures.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum/Kanban Processes
• Relevant AWS Certifications
• Experience with automated network configuration management

• Develop and execute strategic plans for network infrastructure and operations, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
• Drive initiatives to enhance network reliability, scalability, and performance, while also ensuring alignment with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
• Champion automation efforts across the network engineering team, leveraging tools and scripting languages to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring processes.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of network infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business requirements, security standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust, scalable, and resilient network architectures that meet current and future needs.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for network-related incidents, leading incident response efforts and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues promptly.
• Analyze network performance metrics and trends to optimize resource utilization, improve reliability, and enhance the overall customer experience.
• Manage relationships with network equipment vendors and service providers, evaluating products and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Ensure that network infrastructure meets regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal security policies, implementing controls and safeguards to protect sensitive data and systems.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits of network infrastructure, addressing vulnerabilities and remediating security issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, architectures, processes, and procedures, ensuring knowledge sharing and continuity of operations.
• Establish and enforce documentation standards and practices to facilitate knowledge transfer and training within the network engineering team.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and dedication to delivering exceptional service to Alkami’s customer base, prioritizing their needs, concerns, and feedback.
