Are you ready to join our Project Engineering team in Sarnia? We’re hiring a Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about improving the safety, environmental and economic performance of our refinery through engineered upgrades.
The project engineering team in Sarnia executes $50-100M/yr of capital projects, ranging in size from $500k-$15M. In this role you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers and project managers to implement engineered changes within capital projects or small engineered changes.
Key Accountabilities:
- As a member of the multidisciplinary project engineering team, develop and support project scopes, provide technical specifications for procurement of mechanical equipment, and participate in technical reviews, including HAZOP and construction work packages
- Provide MOC (Management of Change) Leadership for small engineered changes (
- Collaborate with experts in Maintenance and Reliability
- Engage key stakeholders in Cross-Functional Teams (CFT’s) to ensure that engineered solutions meet the long-term needs of the refinery
Minimum Requirements:
- Five to ten years of experience in an industrial setting working with piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, rotating equipment.
- Experience in conceptual, front-end, and detailed engineering on small to mid-sized projects in the Oil and Gas/Refining/Petrochemical Industries
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and registered as or immediately eligible to register as a professional engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
- Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
