Description:

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with Microelectronics specifics, Clean Room, Wire Bond, Die attach, Flip chip, Surface Mount Technology
  • A working-knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Value Stream Mapping, Standard operating procedures, Root-Cause Analysis and Set-Up Reduction/Mistake-Proofing is preferred.
  • Skills in automating KPIs with use of software integrated to MRP system.
  • 7-10 years experience as an Industrial Engineer/Mechanical Engineer

    The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Responsibilities:

POSITION ROLE TYPE:

Onsite
This position is for an Industrial Engineer who will join the Manufacturing support team at the Collins Aerospace Coralville facility. This position requires an individual that is motivated with strong interpersonal skills. Microelectronics background is required and experience with manufacturing operations is preferred. This position will be responsible for production support of legacy products, new product introduction with integration of new production assets, training staff in the use of equipment, validation of equipment with record retention, and process development for manufacturability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert establishing the physical layout of machinery and the most efficient sequence of operations and work flow.
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • Provides measurable input into the sequence of operations and procedures and documents manufacturing standard work and routings.,
  • Contributes to the planning of the allocation of resources, materials and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment.
  • Assists facilities engineers (planning and design of facilities) and materials logistics (packaging design).
  • Establishes the physical layout of machinery and the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow.
  • Plans the sequence of operations and procedures and documents manufacturing standard work and routings.
  • Plans the allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment.
  • Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification or electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • May assist facilities engineers (planning and design of facilities) and materials logistics (packaging design).
