SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recognized subject matter expert.
  • Serves as prime consultant on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities and long-range goals and objectives.
  • BS/BA in any engineering discipline and 7-10 years of increasingly diverse or complex applications in field of expertise or MS/MA and generally at least 5-7 years of experience in related field.
  • Expert level Excel and MS SQL knowledge is required.
  • Must have some experience with Power BI
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvements and implementing projects.
  • Mastery of existing and emerging technologies, processes, and practices.
  • Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories.
  • Ability to interface and drive results with management at all levels.
  • Travel required below 50%
  • Ability to work different shifts including third shift

Responsibilities:

OVERALL PURPOSE:

DHL Express currently has an opening for a Process Engineer. This position helps to plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations in our Gateways and Hubs throughout Canada. The Sr. Process Engineer is responsible for establishing work measurement, programs and analyzing work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. This position may also contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts and as well support PUD Engineers.

KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Forecasts facility, staffing and material handling equipment needs in order to improve cost, utilization, service, and efficiencies.
  • Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Will contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts as required.
  • Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow by analyzing production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules.
  • Recommends methods for maximizing the utilization of production facilities and personnel by restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing equipment in adherence with governmental, health, safety, and other regulations.
  • Prepares cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluates cost factors; recommends changes in each
  • Service Center/Gateway/Hub pertaining to cost control, as well as time and motion, work standards, work methods, personnel utilization, service, and quality.
  • Coordinates routing system changes with airline, hub and ground network in order to optimize service cost.

  • Monitors and evaluates service and cost management
  • Assumes project management responsibilities as necessary.
  • Works closely with the Gateway Compliance and Zero Defect teams to ensure the operations are driving quality through efficiency while adhering to compliance standards.
  • This role is designed to provide direct support to Hubs and GTWs.
