SUMMARY

Serve as the liaison between the Sales Account Manager and the Engineering Design team. Review project schedules, scope and budgets for compliance and status. Organize project activities; schedule and facilitate cross-functional project team meetings; track team and individual progress to ensure completion of projects on schedule and within budget and scope constraints. Supervises, mentors, and develops Assistant Project Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires B.A./B.S. or equivalent experience in business, engineering, manufacturing, communication, or project management.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing projects and staff.
  • Must have the ability to successfully organize, direct, and manage the activities and performance of others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must have good communication and problem-solving skills. Able to escalate issues and help find solutions to create favorable outcomes.
  • Must be curious and have a desire and ability to learn new things to meet customer and company needs.
  • Must be able to manage time and multiple projects. Self-starter with strong reporting skills
  • Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
  • Must be organized, accurate, detail oriented and self-directed.
  • Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures, geometric dimensions and tolerances, blueprint interpretation, and quality standards.
  • Must be able to organize and facilitate meetings with all levels of management, internally and externally.
  • Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Must have advanced computer skills (Enterprise Resource Planning, MS Office, etc.) and be able to use portions that are applicable to job function. Experience with project management software required.

Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate and manage project plans and budget estimates required to advance each assigned project / defined effort. Establish the overall project work plan.
  • Monitor progress of assigned projects; track timelines, milestones, standards and targets, alerting appropriate personnel of any obstacles or potential delays; provide corrective action recommendations.
  • Own and manage the schedule and budget tracking and reporting process, including forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Assist with coordination of the technical review process among internal specialists (including tooling, electro-mechanical, and process engineering)
  • Ensure project deliverables satisfy the project requirements within the agreed upon scope of work.
  • Track project documentation and ensure records are created and stored per process requirements.
  • Create communication plans and schedules; ensure information is exchanged among key stakeholders.
  • Schedule and facilitate regular project team meetings.
  • Gather information from project team, prepare project status update, and present to executive sponsors, key stakeholders, strategic partners, and managers on regular or requested basis.
  • Monitor, and report metrics for key performance indicators (KPI’s) during project execution.
  • Alert manager of, and obtain appropriate authorization for, any potential changes to project cost, schedule, scope, or performance.
  • Identify and actively managing project risk. Create, assess, and implement risk mitigation plans to resolve negative impact to the project.
  • Maintain issue, risk, and action item logs.
  • Manufacturing and technical background required. Injection molding background preferred.
  • Determines required staffing levels and analyzes budgets. Interviews and selects employees to fill vacancies for optimal operations.
  • Conducts evaluations of employee’s performance and corrective action.
  • Facilitates performance improvement through coaching and mentoring.
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors staff.
  • Interprets and enforces company policies and safety regulations.
  • Promotes the quality system and follows quality system guidelines. Ensures staff is educated and understands quality system requirements.
