JOB SUMMARY:

As a Senior Quality Engineer you will be interfacing with cross functional teams through face to face interactions in a fast paced environment with plenty of challenging opportunities. You will be working hands on with our manufacturing processes and products. Your knowledge and experience will be valued and contribute to furthering the success of Raytheon Operations Quality.
The Operations Quality Team provides leadership for integration and execution of Quality practices and processes in the factory. We serve as the prime Quality interface with Operations responsible for the guidance and support of all matters pertaining to Quality and continuous improvement in the Factory.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 5 years of engineering experience in quality engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience in supporting design and/or manufacturing process
  • Experience interpreting and ensuring compliance to TDP requirements and QMS requirements
  • Experience in RCCA and Continuous Improvement methods
  • Previous experience reading/interpreting manufacturing/inspection work instructions
  • Experience with engineering principles and design analysis techniques
  • Manufacturing process experience in one of the following areas: (assembly, inspection, test, process and tool control
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • ASQ CQE Certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in negotiating, having difficult conversations, and ability to work well with factory Customer, management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in APQP methods (including FMEA, Control Plan, FAI/AS9102, SPC) with demonstrated ability to mentor cross-functional team
  • SME in interpreting and ensuring compliance to TDP requirements and QMS requirements
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment that requires prioritization and flexibility to support competing requirements
  • Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Demonstrated leadership in RCCA and Continuous Improvement projects
  • Proficient in MRB and manufacturing lien processes
  • Knowledge of PRISM, Business Warehouse, RCAS, CMES, Virtual Business Systems (VBS)
  • Motivated and self-starting team player who achieves results and continuously strives for improvement

    The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES TO ANTICIPATE:

  • Identify and manage risk in the manufacturing process
  • Supporting production, first article inspections, creating/maintaining work/inspection instructions, and preparation for audits (internal, enterprise, customer)
  • Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies
  • Regular interface with DCMA (product sales, process audits, product configuration audits)
  • Daily status meetings with the factory support, factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders to manage issue, and weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality.
  • Primary quality representative for assigned value streams or processes.
  • Mentoring Quality Engineers.
  • Leading factory wide strategic efforts that meet the quality department goals.
  • Facilitate and lead cross-functional team in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB)
