POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Regional Operational Excellence Manager, North Region is responsible for the development and successful implementation journey of Operational Excellence across multiple plants. The Manager provides coaching of the Refresco Management System (RMS), Kaizen, and the Operational Excellence vision and strategy. This includes deploying change management, operational playbooks, creation of standardized software tools, and talent capabilities across subjects including safety, first pass quality, line productivity, yield, indirect labor, and maintenance improvements. The Sr. Regional Operational Excellence Manager will be well versed in strategy deployment. In addition, have the ability and wiliness to teach and coach employees in Lean and Kaizen; some tools being the 8 Wastes, Standard Work, SMED, 5S, and Centerlining. The Sr. Regional Operational Excellence Manager will partner directly with Plant Leadership in their region to coordinate the activities required above. This role will work closely with the Sr. Director of Operations, Plant Managers together with the North American and Global Leadership teams.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management or Operations or related field required.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in the Continuous Improvement (Lean manufacturing) and Training Field required; beverage or food strongly preferred.
  • Lean/Kaizen/ certification a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Prior multiple site responsibility.
  • Proven ability to drive change.
  • Lean deployment.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Able to work independently and prioritize among multiple simultaneous assignments with strong ownership.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; SAP is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, results oriented.
  • Able to work under deadline pressures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Budget planning and managing.
  • Ability to work in a changing and multi-task environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Leadership in developing, standardizing, and executing the company strategy and KPIs across your region.
  • Assist in developing tools and processes for implementing and sustaining continuous improvement activities and savings.
  • Champion developing a Lean culture throughout your region / the company.
  • Teach and be a mentor of Kaizen methodology to CI and non-CI employees.
  • Drive cultural change by developing standard training, and mentoring others in the use of Lean tools, approaches, and techniques to create a culture of continuous improvement while improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost in all production and office areas.
  • Be a liaison in share best practices across the organization.
  • Coach and drive cost saving initiatives by partnering with CI and the Operations teams which results in improvement of safety, first pass quality, direct labor, yield, and indirect labor YOY.
  • Identify and lead large-scaled projects to successfully implement throughout the organization.
  • Responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Identify high potential employees within the organization; coach and mentor them in leading and implementing improvement initiatives and assist them with their career progression.
  • Assist with the identification of cost optimization projects.
  • Operates cross functionally to assure information flow and understanding of overall process improvement direction and expected results.
  • Works closely with cross-functional team members to improve standardized dashboarding capabilities.
  • Travel required 50% of the time.
