SENIOR SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER (SRE)

Gorilla Logic is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) responsible for automation, instrumentation, and stability of our client’s platforms to achieve health and performance. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. But your real success will be measured by how well you couple critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm, and determination.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of systems administration background (Unix/Networking)
  • 3+ years of experience as a site reliability engineer
  • 1+ years of coding experience with one or more high level languages like Python and Shell scripting
  • Extensive experience with infrastructure monitoring and performance tools
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, solving complex problems, identifying areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
  • Demonstrated track record of maintaining and building large scale distributed systems
  • Proficient in scripting, coding, and deployment automation
  • Strong experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Grafana and Dynatrace.
  • Proficiency in API management, particularly with tools such as GCP Apigee.
  • Extensive knowledge in cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with load balancing techniques and networking principles.
  • Capable of managing Level 2 support issues effectively

BONUS SKILLS

  • Experience with additional cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
  • Familiarity with container technologies and orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of NGINX as a web server and reverse proxy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated, scalable, and user-friendly systems to improve overall system reliability and efficiency.
  • Spearhead the implementation and maintenance of robust monitoring and alerting systems using advanced tools like Grafana and Dynatrace.
  • Direct the management and enhancement of infrastructure services, focusing on uptime, scalability, and resilience.
  • Champion the use of automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform to optimize workflow and infrastructure management.
  • Navigate cloud environments, primarily Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging its capabilities to boost service reliability and performance.
  • Provide expert Level 2 support, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Lead by example, setting high standards for code quality, service reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Good Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
